Important Parking Information

Permits are required to park anytime the University is open. If you do not have a permit, you must pay to park in a visitor area. Please have a current valid permit properly displayed on your vehicle or park in a Visitor deck or in a metered area until a permit is obtained.

Spring Permits

Spring permits will be available on the website Dec. 1. Student permits ordered on or before Dec. 20 will be mailed on Dec. 21; permits ordered after Dec. 20 will need to be picked up from the PaTS:

Friday, Jan. 6 – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Saturday, Jan. 7 – Closed
Sunday, Jan. 8 – 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Monday, Jan. 9 – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Tuesday, Jan. 10 – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

PaTS Office
Wednesday, Jan. 11 – We will resume normal hours in the Parking Office - 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Documentation needed to purchase a permit

  • 49er ID card
  • Vehicle registration
  • Driver's license
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (if is not on registration or has changed)

It is illegal to park anywhere on campus other than in a marked parking space.

  • The absence of "No Parking" or "Fire Lane" signs, or lack of curb paint does not suggest that parking is permitted.
  • Enough room for a vehicle to park does not suggest that parking is permitted.
  • You many only leave your vehicle in marked parking spaces. There are no exceptions.
  • The University of North Carolina at Charlotte assumes no liability – under any circumstances – for damaged, vandalized, stolen or impounded vehicles.
