Permit prices for 2013-2014 announced
Many changes have been made in the permit program for 2012-2013, including:
Commuter - CPermit is valid on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week in all yellow and orange Commuter color coded areas. RFID chip opens gates at Lot 15 and Cone Deck at 6:00 pm.
Resident – RResident permit is valid 24/7 in all blue and orange Resident color coded areas. It is not valid in Lot 8, Lot 8a or the Moore/Sanford U parking lots. RFID chip opens gates at Lot 15, Cone Deck and CRI Deck 1 at 6:00 pm.
Resident – R8L, R8A and RMSR8L permit is valid 24/7 in Lot 8 (between Scott and Holshouser) on Highrise Road. RFID chip opens gates at Lot 15, Cone Deck and CRI Deck 1 at 6:00 pm.
R8A permit is valid 24/7 in Lot 8A (between Moore and Scott) on Highrise Road. RFID chip opens gates at Lot 15, Cone Deck and CRI Deck 1 at 6:00 pm.
RMS permit valid 24/7 in the Moore/Sanford U Lot on Highrise Road. RFID chip opens gates at Lot 15, Cone Deck and CRI Deck 1 at 6:00 pm
Greek Village - GGreek Village permit is valid 24/7 in Greek Village and orange color coded areas. RFID chip opens gates at Lot 15, Cone Deck and CRI Deck 1 at 6:00 pm.
Night - NNight permits are valid after 3:00 pm in all yellow and orange Commuter color coded areas. RFID chip opens gates at CRI Deck 1 at 3:00 pm and Lot 15 and Cone Deck at 6:00 pm.
Lot 27L27 permit is valid 24/7 in parking Lot 27 on Toby Creek Road near the Harris Alumni House. Lot 27 is a "walk-in" discounted parking lot, not served by the Campus Shuttle or SafeRide. During holidays and breaks when class is not in session and over the summer, vehicles with L27 permits are allowed to park in areas designated for Commuter permits.
Lot 6A6A permit is valid 24/7 in parking Lot 6A on Cameron Blvd (by John Kirk Rd.). This is a discounted lot served by the Campus Shuttle (Rt. 50 Red Line) during Fall and Spring semesters. On holidays/breaks when class is not in session and over the summer, vehicles with 6A permits are allowed to park in areas designated for Commuter permits.
Discount Remote Parking at Starlight Cinema - RPDiscount remote parking at Starlight Cinema (11240 US Highway 29) is served by a CATS Rt. 49 Green Line from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
RP permits are not valid on campus, not even after 6:00 pm., except for Fridays, weekends, holidays/breaks when class is not in session and summer.
The first Green Line Rt. 49 shuttle departs from Starlight Cinema’s parking lot at 6:00 am.; last shuttle departs from the Student Union at 5:45 pm. Green Line bus passes are issued with the purchase of an RP permit. Pass must shown when boarding at Starlight; if not, Charlotte Area Transit will charge normal fare.
Faculty/Staff- F/SFaculty/Staff permits are valid on campus 24/7 in all yellow and orange Commuter color coded areas, and Resident-designated lots except for Lots 8A, MSU and any spaces in Lots 8 and 16 that are not specifically marked for Faculty/Staff parking. The RFID chip will allow entry into all Faculty/Staff gated parking to those who have paid for gated F/S access.
Students who transfer or withdraw, or those who graduate in December, may apply for a refund. Staff or faculty (excluding payroll deduction) who terminate employment may also request a refund. Under normal circumstances, a refund will be granted.
All "Part Time" permits are sold at full price for the entire academic year or prorated for a portion thereof. Staff or faculty who terminate employment may also request a refund. Under normal circumstances, a refund will be granted.
Refunds in other circumstances may be granted by the Administrative Officer or an appointed delegate on a case-by-case basis.
Refunds are not given after April 15.
No refunds are given to Faculty and Staff who pay for a permit by payroll deduction.
No parking refunds will be made for Summer School or Night School permits except for students officially withdrawing during the first two weeks of the semester, under which circumstances 90% will be refundable for the unused permit plus an administrative fee.
An approved request for a refund will be honored upon proof of liquidation of all debts to The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
A refund will be issued only upon presentation of sufficient permit residue to provide proof of destroyed permit. A refund will be issued by check, mailed to the permit purchaser.
