Summer Visitor Parking
East Deck Visitor Level Closing for 2012 Summer
East Deck Visitor Parking and East Deck 1 ramp will be closed for upgrade work May 14–August 1, 2012.
Between May 21 and August 1, East Deck Visitor Parking will move to East Deck 3, Level 1, entering from Van Landingham Road. A flat $5.00 fee will be charged for visitor parking. An attendant will collect parking fees/tokens and assist visitors at a pay station located at the stairwell near the pedestrian exit.
East Deck 3 Visitor Payment Options
Options for payment in the temporary East Deck 3 visitor area are limited to credit card, coin or token. Bills will not be accepted for payment due to the functionality of the temporary equipment.
The flat $5.00 fee to park in East Deck 3 has been set to make payment simpler for visitors who wish to park there. Those who need to use cash or prefer to pay by the hour may park in either the Cone or Union Decks (Cone and Union Visitor Decks take cash, credit cards and tokens).

Visitors to UNC Charlotte have the following parking options:
Meter Parking
- Metered parking areas are effective between the hours of 8:00 AM - 9:30 PM, Monday - Thursday, and 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM Friday, except University holidays.
- Vehicles with valid permits have to pay if parked at meters.
- It is the operator's responsibility to know the time limit on the meters. The time limit varies for meters from one location to another but limits are posted on the meter, under the timer.
- Do not park at meters reading "OUT OF ORDER." Notify Parking Services for malfunctioning meters.

Visitor Parking Decks
- There are three visitors decks triangulating campus: Cone Visitor Deck, Union Visitor Deck and the Visitor Deck at East Deck-1.
Short Visits
For short visits, there is metered parking in many areas all around campus but metered parking is limited and fills quickly. Meters with restricted time limits are marked inside, under the timer.
Longer Visits
Temporary parking permits are available for $5 per day. To purchase a temporary permit, go to the Parking and Transportation Services office, #23 on campus map. You may park in front of the building for the short time it will take to procure the temporary permit. You will need:
- Your driver's license number
- The make and model of your vehicle
- The tag number of your vehicle
