Permit Types & Where to Park
Permit Types
Each virtual permit has corresponding permissions that assign where and when the vehicle may park.
Commuter
Available only to commuter students
Valid on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week in all yellow and orange color-coded areas. Access granted in Lot 15 and Cone Deck from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Night
Available only to faculty, staff and commuter students
Valid between 3 p.m. and 8 a.m. in all yellow and orange color-coded areas. Access granted to Lot 15 and Cone Deck (1 and 2 only; not visitor) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Resident
Available only to resident students
Valid 24/7 in all blue and orange color-coded areas. Access granted in Lot 15, Cone Deck and CRI Deck and the lower level of Union Deck from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Greek Village
Available only to residents assigned to Greek Village
Valid 24/7 in Greek Village and orange color-coded areas. Access granted in Lot 15, Cone Deck, CRI Deck 1 and lower level of Union Deck from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Faculty/Staff Premium and Standard
Available only to faculty/staff
Valid on campus 24/7 in green faculty/staff lots, yellow and orange commuter areas, Lot 15 (Premium Only), and blue resident-designated lots except Lot 16. F/S Premium parking access is granted only to those who have also paid for premium access. F/S Center City parking privileges are available online to F/S working at CCB. Permission must be requested at the time of purchase.
Discount Remote Parking*
Lot 6A
Available only to faculty/staff and commuter students
Valid 24/7 in designated areas of both parking Lots 6 & 6a on Cameron Blvd. (by John Kirk Road). Served by the Silver Niner Transit route.
Lot 27
Available only to faculty/staff and commuter students
Valid 24/7 in parking Lot 27 on Alumni Way near the Harris Alumni House. Lot 27 is a walk-in discounted parking lot, not served by campus buses. (There is a bus stop on Alumni Way near the Harris Alumni House, slightly over 1/10 mile walk.)
North Deck
Available only to commuter students
Valid only in North Deck; available annual or by the semester. Niner Transit Green and Gold routes stop nearby by UNC Charlotte Main Light Rail station.
* Discount remote permits may be upgraded to a commuter permit for use during summer for an additional fee.
The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City Building
Students are automatically assigned parking privileges if they enroll in a class at Center Center Building. Faculty and staff must add Center City parking privileges when they purchase their parking permit.
Motorcycle/Moped
You are required to purchase a motorcycle or moped permit to park on campus in designated motorcycle/moped parking.
